Camping with Students

I’ve been gone for a few days. Where was I? Winter camping with kids. It’s a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about the environment as well as themselves. I’ll be writing several posts as I get my thoughts together.

Last night it snowed. It was beautiful this morning as I walked to my car. Here’s a sneak – preview.

Camping in the snow? What kind of insanity is that? And then you do it with students? have you had any psychological testing lately?

Ha–I’m with dkzody! And I’ll add one more question . . . you were up when it was still nearly dark?! I suppose that happens every day for most people though, huh? I’m lucky to be able to stumble into the home office at 8:30 to start my day.

There is a certain amount of insanity to do this. But it’s with kids I know really well. Usually we go the last week in September and it’s the peak time with the leaves turning. This is my first time in the winter. But it was still really cool. The temps were in the mid 20s and we had plenty of warm clothes. Just wait until I post about the sauna! Now that’s INSANE! The picture was taken a little after 7am. Breakfast was at 7:30. It had snowed a few inches so I wanted to clean my car off and get it warm before breakfast.
